His photographic technical mastery has helped him portray the world from a personal artistic perspective.  -L. D'Amico

My love of photography started with a fascination with old family photographs. Black & White photographs looked like another world, whether they were of family or those great old Hollywood glamour shots.

I had always loved photography but it wasn't until my second year of college, when I took a photography that I realized I that's what I wanted to do.

For quite a few years I took jobs that were somehow related to photography: a 1-hour photo store and a photo stock agency. Finally I stepped out on my own and opened a photography, graphic design and framing store. It turned out to be fleeting joy. Soon after, I started working on a photo project of owners and their homes in the historical Eastside section of Paterson, NJ. I also did promotional photos for local singers for marketing, advertising and CD covers.

Even though I believe portraits are my strong suit; I've recently discovered a passion for landscapes. I owe this rebirth to my recent foray into digital photography. In the beginning I was hesitant to buy a digital camera. Now I've found it to be very beneficial to my work. It's inspiring to see my images immediately and feel limitless in the number of times I can shoot a subject.

Since combining work with Lisa D'Amico to create art shows I feel I'm in a productive place and this new perspective has gotten my creative juices flowing. I've also opened up a new studio.
My latest project is of great importance to me. It is a photo campaign for gay marriage in New Jersey. Be sure to take a look at the photos on the New Jersey Equality section on this website. You can also visit my blog dedicated to the cause:
