My love of photography started with a fascination with old family photographs. Black &
White photographs looked like another world, whether they were of family or those great old Hollywood glamour shots. I had always loved photography but it wasn't until my second year of college, when I took
a photography that I realized I that's what I wanted to do. For quite a few years I took jobs that were somehow related to photography: a 1-hour photo
store and a photo stock agency. Finally I stepped out on my own and opened a photography, graphic design and framing store.
It turned out to be fleeting joy. Soon after, I started working on a photo project of owners and their homes in the historical
Eastside section of Paterson, NJ. I also did promotional photos for local singers for marketing, advertising and CD covers. Even though I believe portraits are my strong suit; I've recently discovered a passion for
landscapes. I owe this rebirth to my recent foray into digital photography. In the beginning I was hesitant to buy a digital
camera. Now I've found it to be very beneficial to my work. It's inspiring to see my images immediately and feel limitless
in the number of times I can shoot a subject. Michael is an alumnus of the State University of New York at Purchase and the Fashion Institute
of Technology.
